Ever since my early teenage years I've been wanting to make games for a living. Video games always seemed to me to be the next great medium through which someone could express themselves. I would doodle game ideas, think up characters, tried my hand a bit of programming here and there, but it always seemed so far off to be able to actually create something.
That was around 10 years ago now and I've persevered through all the little niggles of doubt and thoughts about maybe doing something else. I started the Games Programming course at Teesside University back in 2006 and I have never looked back. I'm now having fun creating things I hadn't even dreamed of all those years ago and trying to do my bit to help the community at the same time.
I've picked up a couple of programming language during my travels, I'm most proficient in C++ but I have done my fair share of C# and Lua aswell. As you might have gathered I have some artistic talent, but I'm definately more suited to programming.
I have 1 year of industry experience thanks to a work placement at Ubisoft Reflections during my 3rd year of University. I have just finished up my final year and I'm pretty confident about how well I did so I'm now looking for a job within the games industry. I think my ideal working environment would be as part of a small team, making smaller, more innovative and experimental games where I can stretch my legs and at the same time have the chance of offering some creative input into the projects.
